Narratives of Memory, Migration and Xenophobia - International Graduate Summer School
In this summer, our master students have a great opportunity to join an international graduate summer school cooperating with University of Victoria (Canada), Aix-Marseille Université (France) and the University of Osnabrück (Germany).

The students will study and travel for three weeks in Hungary, Germany, France, and Canada engaging in intercultural discussions and musical performances at sites of traumatic historical memory. At each location, students will reflect on how narratives of the past inform the present context of migration and xenophobia.
This international graduate summer school is open to MA students from ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences. The graduate summer school runs from July 16th – July 27th (Hungary, Germany, France), and from August 16th – August 26th (Winnipeg and Victoria, Canada).
Sufficient proficiency in English is the prerequisite for application. There will be an oral interview in English for selected applicants.
Only travel cost from Aix-en-Provance to Budapest, and lunches, dinners have to be paid by the participants. All other costs are covered by the Summer Field School.
Application file should include:
- Registration Form: fill out the online registration form. Then print out the filled form and include it in your application files.
- Motivation Letter: your motivation to apply, your previous studies, work experiences, volunteering, future plans connected to the topic of the field school, your hopes for yourself from participating in the Graduate Summer Field School.
- Transcript of Records
Complete files should be submitted to the International Office (room 7.35) during office ours.
