Boris Bertolt's Public Presentation on Homosexuality of Senegal   (2017.05.09.)
Homosexuality in Senegal, as in the majority of States in Africa, is considered as a crime. This sexual practice suffers from social illegitimacy. Homosexuals are a marginalized group in society in heterosexual hegemony. However, the growing visibility of homosexuals in the public space has been accompanied by a rise in homophobic acts and speech hostile to the decriminalization of homosexuality. The aim of this paper is to highlight the political and institutional mechanisms that contribute to strengthening the public's view of homosexuality as a threat to society. Read more »
