The Aspects of the 2015 Migration Crisis in Hungary
Professors of ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences Endre Sik and Bori Simonovits are amongst the authors of the report by TÁRKI Social Research Centre, titled: The Social aspects of the 2015 Migration Crisis in Hungary.
The aim of the final report is to provide an in-depth view of the current European refugee crisis and its repercussions in Hungary. The focus of the research is threefold:
- to explore and assess changes in the majority?s attitudes towards asylum-seekers, refugees on the one hand and labour migration on the other, based on two waves of data collections (October 2015 and January 2016) on representative samples;
- to analyse the development and the role of the organisations working in the field. The focus is placed on those mostly non-governmental organisations that have been taking an active role in helping asylum-seekers in Hungary;
- to analyse the online media coverage of the humanitarian organisations and the grassroots groups during the 2015 migration crisis in Hungary;
