The Department of Social Work and the Doctoral School of Sociology, ELTE are excited to invite you to an engaging lecture titled: "Using Media in Oman to Support Communities in Times of Crisis" by PhD student Ms. Bushra Al Hammadi on November 7, 2024 at 4 pm.

In this one-hour insightful session, Ms. AL Hammadi will explore how media plays a critical role in crisis communication, drawing on real-world examples from Oman. Learn how timely information, combating misinformation, and promoting solidarity through media can help communities stay resilient during challenging times.

Is media just about broadcasting information—or is also a tool for building social cohesion, reducing panic, and promoting positive actions in the face of adversity?

The lecture is followed by a discussion, moderated by Associate Professor dr. habil Mária Arapovics.

This event is taking place within the frameworks of the Hungarian Science Festival.
