Research Group for Green Economy and Economic Ethics
Overview
The Department of Business Communication and Marketing focuses on the green transition of the economy and the social and economic, short and long term impacts of sustainability. It also aims to educate students in sustainable thinking. To achieve these goals, the Green Economy and Economic Ethics Research Group was established in 2024.
The precursor of the research group is the project "Marketing going green. Contexts of sustainability and possibilities of sustainability-related attitude formation in the context of green marketing", which aimed at sensitizing students to green and sustainable topics in 2022-2023. We can also see as a precursor the academic and student conferences and exhibitions organized in 2023 and 2024 on the occasion of Earth Day, can be seen as a precursor. In spring 2024, the members of the research team submitted two OTKA (Starting, Advanced) proposals on sustainability.
Goal
The research group's aim is to examine the economic and social impacts of sustainability, to describe the characteristics of ethical economic activities and to share good practices. The research group also has a third mission, by seeking connections with local economic actors and disseminating the results to the wider public through conferences. The aim is thus not only to disseminate scientific results, but also to educate consumers (university students) and to promote science.
The research gro
up carries out both basic and applied research. Research is carried out also by students (including thesis and (O)TDK research). The research team works closely with other universities, researchers and business professionals from other universities and research institutes.
