In honour of the inauguration of Professor Andrew Arato (The New School for Social Research, New York) as Honorary Doctor at Eötvös Loránd University, the Doctoral School of Sociology and the Institute of Political and International Studies, ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences organises an international conference titled “Constitutional Democracy: Challenges and Roads to Recovery – Andrew Arato Doctor et Professor Honoris Causa 80”.
The conference, taking place on 15–16 May 2025, will be bilingual. On the first day of the event, there will be presentations and round-table discussions in Hungarian, while on the second day, the program's language will be English.
On 15 May, at 13:15, Andrew Arato will give an honorary doctoral lecture in Hungarian, titled “A demokrácia kalandjai: parabola vagy ciklus?”.
