ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences Provides Education Aid to Students Fleeing from Ukraine
The academic and student body of the Faculty of Social Sciences at ELTE express their solidarity with all people of Hungarian, Ukrainian or other nationality fleeing from the war in Ukraine. The community of our Faculty offer to do everything in their power to help those students and lecturers currently staying in Hungary who studied or worked in the field of social sciences in any Ukrainian institution of higher education before the outbreak of the military conflict.

ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences—as the largest education center in Hungary solely focusing on social sciences—is opening 100+ seminars and lectures to the students who had to leave their Ukrainian universities behind. The free offline and online courses (held both in English and Hungarian) are available from March 7, 2022 in the framework of the following study programs:

  • Community and Civil Development Studies MA
  • Cultural Anthropology MS
  • Ethnic and Minority Policy MA
  • Human Ecology MA
  • International Relations BA & MA
  • Social Pedagogy MA
  • Social Policy MA
  • Social Work BA & MA
  • Sociology BA & MA
  • Survey Statistics and Data Analytics MSc

The integration of the refugee students is supported by the mentor program of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN).

In the hope that the refugee students will soon be able to return to their home universities and will be able to have the courses they completed at ELTE Faculty of Social Sciences accepted, the Faculty issues a transcript about all completed lectures and seminars to all students.

The Faculty also provides its free available office space and infrastructure, as well as full access to its library for those social science researchers and lecturers who had to flee from Ukraine and leave their mother institutions behind.

The Faculty welcomes your inquiries regarding the free courses and office space via e-mail.
