Pandemic context

The Embassy of Canada in Budapest has developed strict protocols around working in our office space due to the pandemic, with staff health and safety as the guiding principle. The Embassy benefits from a physical layout that promotes separation, along with additional hygiene and sanitization measures that have been put in to place. For instance, we work in an independent building instead of a shared multi-tenant tower, we have assigned workstations and offices instead of shared desks, a maximum number of people that can use shared spaces (kitchens, elevators) at one time, and largely closed offices instead of open floor cubicles. Wearing of a mask is mandatory when entering and exiting the embassy premises, as well as when in common areas.  Staff are only permitted to remove their masks once arrived at their designated workspace.

The Government of Canada aims to provide our employees with as much relevant information to enable them to make informed decisions on their welfare. Our pandemic protocols offer the best protection to our staff, on the understanding that the Government of Canada does not assume or undertake any legal responsibility, to you, or those affected by the pandemic.
