The Institute of Political and International Studies at Eötvös Loránd University would like to invite you to its upcoming event titled "The Significance of the Galileo Circle in Hungary and Lessons for Today."

The Galileo Circle (1908–1919) was an intellectual group that involved the great Hungarian thinker Karl Polanyi as well as other lead intellectuals such as Karl Mannheim and György Lukács (recurring lecturer). It sought to disseminate cutting-edge thought through lectures, seminars, and publications. It was a broad circle of opinion, including radical liberals, social democrats, socialists, and anarchists, but with common goals such as the protection and promotion of free thinking and unprejudiced science in universities.

Key Speaker: Dr. Péter Csunderlik, Assistant Professor – Institute Of Historical Studies, Eötvös Loránd University

Moderator: Dr Andrew Ryder, Habil. Associate Professor – Institute Of International And Political Studies, Eötvös Loránd University
