WHAT DATABASES SHOULD YOU KNOW? - SCIENCE DIRECT

The Science Direct is the multidisciplinary database from  Elsevier which provides access to the most known journals with full text. Mainly technically natural and medical journals are available but other disciplines also represented. In terms of Social Sciences this means 297 subscribed and open access journals. The search in the page is a little bit special. The free-text search isn't available in the traditional way we must choose the place - e.g. journal title, article title, author - where we want to search. Of course there is an opportunity for advanced search, but here it is not much different from the other. Or like in the previous databases we can search by fields of science. (Social science is at the bottom of the list.) 2,500 peer-reviewed journals are available in the database.

Why is this good?

Because you can find up-to-date literature relevant to a seminar dissertation, dissertation, or any other school assignment.

How can I access it from home?
