For one afternoon, the Faculty of Social Sciences at ELTE (ELTE TáTK) shed its familiar academic rhythm and took on a distinctly international pulse. Culture Day, jointly organized by the faculty’s Student Union and the student‑run Culture Club, turned the building into a lively crossroads of languages, traditions, and shared experiences.
The event mirrored the reality of everyday life at ELTE TáTK, where international students make up more than a quarter of the student body. Coming from all five continents and enrolled across bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, they bring with them a wide range of cultural perspectives—an academic and social diversity that Culture Day placed firmly in the spotlight.
Guests had an immersive cultural experience, sampling international dishes, listening to live music, and watching dance performances that reflected the cultural backgrounds of students. From traditional rhythms to contemporary sounds, from shared meals to joint activities, the afternoon unfolded as a celebration of difference and connection alike.
Culture Day contributed to strengthening an open, inclusive, and diverse university community, as well as providing an opportunity to deepen cultural and community connections among students.
