Minimum level of language proficiency (both written and oral): B2.1 IELTS Score: 5.5 TOEFL IBT Band: 46-59 Cambridge English Scale Score: 162.
If the applicant is unable to prove their knowledge of English with any of the above certifications, their English language proficiency will be judged by the committee based on her/his submitted video presentation. When watching the introductory video, the committee also seeks to assess the general and professional knowledge and interest of the applicant.Any letter of acceptance issued by the Faculty of Social Sciences is based on the verified fact that the applicant's command of English has been assessed; therefore, they are considered eligible to pursue their higher studies at the institution. If the applicant can prove that they competed their former education in entirely in English by submitting a notarized attestation and a detailed academic transcript, no proof of language knowledge will be required throughout the admission process. |

Procedure of the entrance examination:
The applications are examined by the Admission Board [in May] and applicants are notified of the outcome of the selection in the online application system [in June]. Admission letters are sent by e-mail [the end of June]. Type of entrance examination: oral Place of entrance examination: internet Further details of the entrance exam: Applicants are expected to prepare an approximately 5-6 minutes long video about those social problems, which they experience around them, in their personal life, in their society. Also, they could talk a little bit about the potential causes of these phenomena, upload it to coospace.tatk.elte.hu (they will receive a guest ID and password to log in).” |

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian Government. The core mission of the programme is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students; currently more than 50 sending partners are engaged in the programme. * * * Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship programme The Hungarian Diaspora Scholarship was established by the Hungarian Government for those who live in a Hungarian diaspora outside of Europe and wish to study at a Hungarian higher education institution to develop their personal, professional and cultural relations to Hungary. The programme aims to support the professional advancement of the scholarship holders with high-quality Hungarian higher education while improving their Hungarian language skills and strengthening their Hungarian identity. After graduation, scholarship holders return to their home country with competitive skills and knowledge that enables them to support their community, preserve Hungarian values and reinforce the relations between the diaspora and Hungary. |
