Study Mobility - Before the mobility
1. During the February main application period, I was awarded a scholarship for the mobility during the next academic year’s autumn semester. When should I start submitting the required documents before the mobility?
It is recommended to start the administration 6-8 weeks before the start of the mobility, in order to receive the scholarship by the start date of the mobility. In case of later administration, the scholarship will be disbursed later. For students spending their mobility in the fall semester, the Grant Agreement will be issued by the Department of Erasmus+ and International Programmes (ENPO) of ELTE at the beginning of July at the earliest.
2. I was awarded a scholarship for the mobility during the spring semester. When should I start submitting the required documents before the mobility?
It is recommended to start the administration 6-8 weeks before the start of the mobility, in order to receive the scholarship by the start date of the mobility. In case of later administration, the scholarship will also be disbursed later. However, when sending the required before the mobility documents, please take into account the Christmas and New Year closures. It is recommended to start completing the pre-departure administration as early as possible.
3. What should I do before my mobility?
Before starting your mobility, you must complete the necessary before the mobility tasks to receive the Grant Agreement issued by the ELTE Department of Erasmus+ and International Programmes, which is a prerequisite for the disbursement of the Erasmus+ scholarship.
As part of the before the mobility tasks, you will need to complete a questionnaire, take the OLS test, have a document proving your insurance (e.g., EU health insurance card), and obtain a Learning Agreement signed by all parties: the outgoing student, the programme director, and the host university.

You can find the contact details of the programme directors at the following link: BA/BSc programme directors; MA/MSc programme directors
4. Can I get information about who else has been accepted to my host university?
In accordance with General Data Protection Regulations, the International Office is not permitted to share students' personal data and/or contact information. However, students have the opportunity to connect with each other through various faculty and university Erasmus+ pre-departure briefings, as well as through informal student groups on social media.
If you would like assistance from the faculty’s international coordinator in connecting with other students who will be attending the same host university under the Erasmus+ programme, please send an email to international@tatk.elte.hu. In your email, please include your contact details and provide your consent for your information to be shared.
5. My ID/passport will expire during the mobility. Is that a problem? What should I do?
Please make sure that your ID/passport is valid and will be valid during the whole study mobility period! In case your ID/passport is about to expire, make sure that you apply and receive your new identification documents before your mobility!
6. My residence permit will expire before the mobility/ during the mobility. Do I have to apply for a new one in Hungary or in the host country?
Non-EEA students must ensure that they have a valid residence permit at all times. When your residence permit is about to expire, you will need to apply for an extension on time in Hungary. More information on the extension process: Extension of residence permit.
Those non-EEA students that require a visa to enter Hungary must make sure that they do not leave the country without their residence permit cards as it is not possible to re-enter the country without them. Those with visa-waiver passports can re-enter Hungary with their residence permits or leftover visa-free days within the Schengen-zone (90 days within any 180 day period) to re-enter the country.
In case you need visa to enter and stay in the host country of your Erasmus+ mobility, please contact your international coordinator of the host university for further information and instructions on immigration policy.
For more information, please contact the ELTE visa coordinator via email (visa@elte.hu - please include your full name, Neptun code (if available), and nationality for efficient processing).
