Other Educational Activities
In the work of the Department of Statistics – in addition to research – education plays the most important role. We give useful and critical statistical/data analysis knowledge at all degree levels of our faculty, while meeting the most diverse needs.
We offer compulsory and optional courses in almost all bachelor's programmes of the faculty. The courses primarily cover descriptive statistics, introductory probability theory and mathematical statistics. In addition to the department's master programme, the Survey Statistics and Data Analytics MSc, we also give lectures on other master's programmes of the faculty (e.g. social policy, health policy). The department also participates in several programmes of the doctoral school (sociology, social policy, interdisciplinary social research). We provide support for the students of the doctoral programme primarily with the acquisition and deeper understanding of the quantitative methodological toolkit essential for high-level scientific research.
