Erasmus+ Traineeship Mobility - For Applicants
1. Where can I find information about the Erasmus+ application process?
All essential information regarding the Erasmus+ traineeship application process can be found on the university’s website as well as on the faculty’s website.
2. How and when can I apply for Erasmus+ scholarship?
Students can continuously apply for Erasmus+ during studies traineeships and Erasmus+ after graduation/completion traineeship scholarship, both during and outside of the official application period, by sending their application with the downloadable application form via email to the faculty international coordinator.
3. I have previously been an Erasmus+ scholarship winner for studies. Can I also apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship?
Yes. Students are entitled to a total of 12 months of Erasmus status per study cycle. 12 months during a bachelor’s programme, another 12 months during a master’s programme, and again 12 months during a PhD programme. These 12 months can be used for any type of Erasmus+ scholarship in any combination, such as 2×5 months for study mobility and 2 months for traineeship mobility, or 5 months for study mobility, 2 months for traineeship mobility, and 5 months for traineeship after graduation/completion mobility. It is important to note that the minimum duration for traineeships is 2 months, and the maximum duration for traineeships is 5 months.
4. I have already completed the compulsory traineeship. Can I still apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship after graduation/completion?
Yes. In this case, the completed traineeship will not be awarded credits according to the curriculum. Instead, a certificate confirming the acquisition of international work experience will be attached as a supplement to the degree certificate.
5. I am a student at ELTE, but a non-EU citizen. Can I still apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship scholarship?
If you are a self-funded student, you can apply for Erasmus+ traineeship scholarship for completing your curricular/ voluntary internship abroad during your studies or after graduation/ completion of all your courses. Please note that if your traineeship mobility is during your studies, you will be required to pay the ELTE tuition fee during your mobility, as you need to have an active student status, which is dependent on paying the tuition fee for the given semester.
If you are a Stipendium Hungaricum or DFP student, please note that you are not entitled to use financial support for taking part in other scholarship programmes or partial studies outside Hungary as your stipend covers studies in Hungary. Therefore, unfortunately you can not apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship abroad during studies scholarship as it is must, by definition, be completed during the study period. It requires a minimum duration of two months, which makes the scholarships incompatible. If you want to keep your stipend but would like to participate in the Erasmus+ programme as well, you can do so after your last financed semester. Assuming that you have your scholarship during the entire duration of your studies, you are eligible for the Erasmus+ traineeship after graduation/completion without risking losing your scholarship. 6. Can I apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship scholarship if I am an international student enrolled on a full-degree programme as a scholarship holder (Stipendium Hungaricum, DFP, etc.)?
If you are a Stipendium Hungaricum or DFP student, please note that you are not entitled to use financial support for taking part in other scholarship programmes or partial studies outside Hungary as your stipend covers studies in Hungary. The scholarship holder must habitually reside in Hungary during the study period. Therefore, unfortunately you can not apply for an Erasmus+ traineeship abroad during studies scholarship as it is must, by definition, be completed during the study period. It requires a minimum duration of two months, which makes the scholarships incompatible. For more information...

Assuming that you have your scholarship during the entire duration of your studies, you are eligible for the Erasmus+ traineeship after graduation/completion without risking losing your scholarship. The traineeship starts after graduation / absolutorium and ends no later than 1 year (360 days) from the date of graduation / absolutorium. Yes, you can apply for Erasmus+ traineeship scholarship with a passive student status. However, you must have an active student status at ELTE in the semester of the planned mobility (unless you apply for a traineeship scholarship after graduation).
8. I am an MA/MSc student, but I have my BA/BSc degree from a different field. Can I apply for Erasmus+ traineeship connected to my BA/BSc studies?
No. If someone wants to do their compulsory traineeship abroad, as specified in the curriculum, it is important to inquire in advance about the requirements of the traineeship as defined in the curriculum (the duration of the traineeship, the number of hours per week, the type of work and the tasks to be performed). The programme director can provide information on this.
You can complete a traineeship abroad even if your curriculum does not include a compulsory traineeship. But, even in the case of a voluntary traineeship, you must ensure that it is connected to your current studies. Therefore, before applying you should consult with the programme director.
You can find the contact details of the programme directors at the following link: BA/BSc programme directors; MA/MSc programme directors
9. Where can I do the traineeship?

The earliest the year the more likely that the contact person and the contact details ar outdated. Should you be interested in any of the institutions, please always check their current contact information.)
