As a member of the Young Network TransEurope (YNT) Karolina Lendák-Kabók participated in the annual conference Reimagining Europe – Hopeful Futures for the Next Century in Varna, which brought together early-career and senior scholars, practitioners, and civil society representatives to discuss democratic participation, resilience, and transnational cooperation in Europe.
As an invited panellist in the workshop Reclaiming Representation: New Perspectives on Democracy and Participatory Futures in Europe, she contributed to an interdisciplinary discussion on minority inclusion, democratic participation, and the future of cultural diversity. Drawing on her research on Hungarian minority communities and mixed families in Central and Eastern Europe, she highlighted the role of language practices, family life, and institutions in shaping belonging, trust, and civic participation, emphasizing diversity as a resource for democratic resilience and cross-border cooperation.
Following the formal workshop, discussions continued informally with fellow speakers and participants, fostering a deeper exchange of ideas, strengthening professional networks, and laying the groundwork for future research collaborations and the development of joint European research grant applications.
