Internship
Information on the Internship of Survey Statistics and Data Analytics Master's Students
Please, as a first step, in all cases, describe your tasks in the work or research you will participate in via e-mail, or bring a description from the selected company/research group about that. You can formulate and briefly present the internship organization on your own, as well as the tasks to be performed, and describe why the experience gained at that organization will be valuable in your professional development. This should be sent to Judit Szabó, administrator of the Department at judit.szabo@tatk.elte.hu, because the prior approval of instructor Márton Rakovics is required for the acceptance of the internship.
You can already do your internship abroad within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. You can apply for 2-5 months. It is important that you can travel within 1 year of graduation, if the application is received before graduation. You can get more information at international@tatk.elte.hu.
Procedure
Students can complete the internship course in the framework of several legal relationships, which are determined by the given programme in each case. The procedure of these is described below. In general, internship course can be taken by the student at Neptun whose internship has been preliminary accepted. Preliminary acceptation means the preliminary assessment of whether the degree and nature of the activity to be carried out at the host organization corresponds to the internship requirements, i.e. if the student fulfills it properly, it can be evaluated as an internship (the course can be completed) subject to other conditions. The internship course is a course with a practical grade; therefore, it has to be completed during the study period; and it is evaluated on a three-level scale. The verification of the internship is stored in the departmental archive in electronic form. The mandatory minimum number of hours of internship in the Survey Statistics and Data Analytics master programme is 240 hours. We would like to draw your attention to the fact that vacation, illness, or other periods resulting in exemption from work cannot be counted in the number of hours of internship. Regarding the completion of the internship, there are 6 options (detailed below). These 6 options can be freely combined with each other up to 240 hours (e.g. teaching one course at the faculty + 120 hours of internship at an external host institution).
