Sustainable transportation infrastructure at the Lágymányosi Campus has expanded with a new addition: a public bike repair station. Installed with the support of the Municipality of Újbuda (District 11 of Budapest), the Fix it and ride unit is now available to help cyclists quickly resolve minor issues encountered during daily commutes.
The initiative was launched by Kata Czinege, assistant at the Financial Office, and implemented by the Municipality of Újbuda. Since 2021, Fix it and ride installations have appeared at multiple locations across the district; the new campus unit further strengthens local cycling infrastructure.
The repair station is located at the intersection of the promenade leading to the northern entrance of the North Building and Magyar Tudósok Blvd. Built for quick, on-the-spot fixes, it allows users to handle common problems on the spot—from inflating a flat tire to making quick adjustments between classes. The unit is equipped with a pump compatible with several valve types, along with a set of essential tools for minor repairs and fine-tuning.
Open not only to students and staff but also to cyclists passing through the area, the Fix it and ride station contributes to strengthening connections between the university and the wider urban community while supporting everyday sustainable mobility.
